Scholarships & Financial Support
Through the generosity of our local Richmond business sponsors and the Richmond Dragon Boat Society (RDBS), we are proud to support our athletes:
- From 1 to 9 (Steady Growth): Our scholarship footprint has grown beautifully. In our first year, we had 1 recipient; our second year, 2 recipients; our third year, 5 recipients; and this year, we have 9 paddlers who have successfully locked in their athletic scholarships! This shows how our youth team is steadily advancing in academics, sportsmanship, and leadership.
- RDBS Summer Commitment Award: Exceptional attendance and effort this summer could land your child the RDBS Award, which completely covers the entire summer team fee!
Next Gen Leadership: 2026/2027 Executive Team
The selection process for our new student Executive Team is underway. These student leaders handle vital team logistics, management, and communication.
- Application Deadline: All executive applications must be submitted by tonight, Sunday, June 7th.
- Note: The top-tier Management roles (Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager, and Team Captains) will be voted on and elected from the pool of executive applicants once general applications close.
Pathway to Success: Elite University Acceptance
Dragon boating is far more than just a sport—it is a training ground for teenagers to develop precious teamwork, commitment, and responsibility skills. Universities and elite post-secondary programs heavily scout for students who demonstrate this level of dedication. In fact, dragon boating directly fulfills 4 out of 5 critical extracurricular profile requirements looked at by UBC and other elite universities.
The proof is in our results! Among our 20 graduating seniors this year, at least 75% have already been accepted into prestigious universities, including UBC and other top-tier institutions! We wish them the absolute best of luck and know they will use their dragon boat leadership skills to navigate their futures.
Our Coaching & Support Philosophy
Quantum is quietly guided by a group of BC school district educational veterans. We deeply understand adolescent development, ensuring our athletes achieve elite athletic and academic results through sustainable, healthy, and scientifically backed mentorship.
See you all on the water on June 14th!
Paddle hard,
Your Team Captains & Coaching Staff
